The idea for Ave Cards™ was born from a simple desire: to find a meaningful, practical, and lasting
sacramental gift for family members.
Through that search came the realization that a humble decade Rosary prayer card could become something much greater—a customizable tool that Catholic parishes, schools, ministries, and organizations could use to strengthen prayer, create lasting connections, and spread the faith.
That vision became the foundation of Ave Card Co.™: creating sacramentals that multiply a ministry's mission.
Today, that original desire has grown into a broader mission: to equip Catholic ministries with practical and meaningful sacramental prayer tools that inspire prayer, foster evangelization, and carry the invitation to faith into the everyday lives of those they serve.
Ave Card Co.™ was founded by Andy Litchfield, a lay Catholic actively involved in his beloved parish. He is a Past Grand Knight of his parish Knights of Columbus council and currently holds an officer role. Andy, his wife, and their four children reside in Indiana within the Diocese of Fort Wayne–South Bend.
The mission of Ave Card Co.™ is to inspire prayer and strengthen evangelization by creating Catholic sacramentals that help ministries extend their mission and invite others into a deeper relationship with Christ—practical and meaningful prayer tools designed to be carried, prayed with, and shared.
An Ave Card™ is more than a sacramental carried in a pocket or wallet. It is a daily invitation to prayer, a tangible connection to the Blessed Mother through the Rosary, and a simple way for Catholic ministries and organizations to extend their mission and share the beauty of the Catholic faith with others.
In the message of Fatima, Our Lady asked the faithful to pray the Rosary every day. The Church likewise calls every Christian to go forth and proclaim the Gospel—a mission carried out each day through the faithful work of countless Catholic parishes, schools, ministries, and organizations.
The Ave Card™ was born at the intersection of these two invitations: a practical sacramental prayer tool designed to be carried, prayed with, and shared—extending the mission of the Church one prayer, one person, and one Ave at a time.
The name Ave Card™ was chosen with a deeper purpose in mind.
In Catholic tradition, the word Ave is most familiarly recognized in the prayer Ave Maria—the Hail Mary. Every Ave Card™ contains ten prayer holes representing a decade of the Rosary, inviting the faithful to pray ten Hail Marys and draw closer to Christ through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
But the meaning of Ave extends even further.
In classical Latin, Ave is a greeting meaning “hail,” “be well,” or “welcome.” It is a word of encounter— a way of acknowledging another person with honor, peace, and goodwill.
That dual meaning lies at the heart of the Ave Card™ mission.
The Ave Card™ is not only a personal prayer tool; it is a sacramental designed to be shared. Through the simple act of giving an Ave Card™ to another person, a parish, ministry, or individual offers a greeting of faith— an invitation to prayer, a connection with the Church, and a moment of grace.
Every card represents both an Ave spoken to Mary and an Ave offered to another soul.
It is a prayer carried in your pocket and a mission carried into the world.
Because every greeting can become an invitation, and every Ave can become an opportunity to spread the faith— one person, one prayer, and one Ave at a time.
"There is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, that cannot be solved by the Rosary."
